Lacquer Together - Schönbrunn Palace AIGC Animation
Introduction
I independently produced the "Schönbrunn Palace AIGC Animation" for the exhibition — storyboarding, style definition, AI generation, final editing, and on-site calibration. Generated entirely through AIGC, the work takes its subject from the famous Lacquer Cabinet of Schönbrunn Palace in 18th-century Austria. With a broad lens language it restages the historical passage of Cantonese lacquerware: travelling the Maritime Silk Road to Europe, then dismantled, reassembled, and inlaid into the interior walls of the palace.
Concept & Philosophy
"The work looks back at a real history of material circulation — how Cantonese lacquerware crossed the ocean and was taken apart and rebuilt inside a foreign palace. AIGC is not used to replace the historical record, but to visualise the processes that the record itself cannot show."
